Introduction: Rover/Ranger is the senior branch of Scouting. It was started by Lord Baden Powell, the founder of the Scout movement. Any regular student of the University/college between the age of 15 to 25 years can be enlisted as Rover (Male Student)/ Ranger (Female Student). A unit of 24 rovers is called a rover crew and a unit of 24 rangers is called a ranger team. Rowing/ranging is a uniformed activity.
Objectives:
* Rover / Ranger aims at 'Social Service'. Rover / Ranger renders services individually and in an organized manner with the spirit of selflessness, sacrifice and dedication to solve various types of problems of the society.
* Interested students of the university will participate in the training camps of Rover / Ranger and after that they will make their character bright by doing social service.
* Rover / Ranger also plays a special role as a volunteer in maintaining order, service and discipline by attending all the functions organized in the university.
* Through this program the students are transformed from the limited circle of 'I' into the extension of 'We'.
Membership:
In Nehru Gram Bharati (Deemed to be University), two units of Rover/Ranger have been formed at the university level in which 48 students and 48 girls can register and participate in the course. No fee will be charged from the students for the program. All interested students can apply for this course except the students registered in NCC and NSS.
Scheme for Advancement of Rovers/Rangers:
Admission : Rovers/Rangers will have to work for 3 months prior to receiving Entry, Rovers/Rangers initiation.
Nipun Badge: Entry Rovers / Rangers will have to work for at least 6 months to get Nipun Badge and Certificate.
State Award Badge: An accomplished Rovers/Rangers will have to work for at least 9 months to get the State Level Certificate and Badge which is called State Awarded Rovers/Rangers.
President Award Badge : A state award Rovers / Rangers will have to work for at least 1 year to get the national level certificate and badge called 'President Rovers / Rangers'.
After obtaining the President's Certificate, the Rovers/Rangers can serve on various Efficiency Medals as a regular student till the age of 25 years.
In compliance with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor dated 09 September 2021, 4 teams of Rovers/Rangers have been formed in the university, in which 2 teams are for students and 2 teams are for girls. Up to 24 students can participate in each team.

Rovers/Rangers Programs Organized at the University:
1. Organized Yoga Camp for Rovers/Rangers - 20.12.2021
2. Five day (from 21 February 2022 to 25 February 2022) training camp was organized in Jamunipur Campus of the University which was concluded by the Honorable Chancellor.
3. Voter Awareness Rally was taken out by Rovers/Rangers on 25th February 2022, on this occasion Honorable Vice Chancellor, Jamunipur Campus Director-Dr Pramod Mishra, and Coordinator Dr. Vishnu Prasad Shukla, In-charge of all four Units were present.
